About Me
Personal Bio
I’m an entrepreneur focused on the Education industry. I am currently building Chaptr Global, a venture that services learn-now-pay-later financing for schools in Africa allowing students to pay what they can, learn, and pay the rest once they are earning. I have also built Zindua School, one of the top coding schools in Kenya. I previously founded African Blockchain Initiative, a social venture that built and educated blockchain communities across 50+ African universities in Kenya, Rwanda, South Africa, Nigeria, and Mauritius.
Professionally, I’m a Data Scientist with a background in Economics, Management, and Computer Science from Bocconi University in Italy. I have niched into Data Analysis and Machine Learning for Product Analytics, Growth Analytics, and Credit Risk Analysis.
Beyond my founded ventures, all of which fall into in the education industry, I have had some experience in the Ed-Tech industry, previously acting as the Country Head of Operations for EduTest Kenya and Digitisation lead for Upstart Consult. I’m also a tech educator: teaching the first Data Science classes at Zindua School, curating blockchain and Cryptoeconomics curriculums at African Blockchain Initiative, and creating tech courses on Udemy with over 10,000 student enrolments.
In my entrepreneurial experience, I have niched into Product and Growth leadership. I led organic growth at Zindua School until it was the top ranked coding school in Kenya across search engines. I also pioneered an analytical approach to growth marketing with website conversion rate optimisation as a core pillar to Zindua School’s growth. I have also led learning management system development for Zindua School, EduTest Global, and I’m currently building credit risk models for Chaptr’s education financing portal. At the core of these functions is an intricate focus on data-driven decision-making, user behaviour tracking, and importantly A-B testing (Causality Analysis).
In conclusion, I blog on my startup experience on this website and build open-source templates for startup ops on Gumroad. As a young founder, the open-source domain was my only way be less stupid on the startup journey. I can’t believe a world without the Posthog company handbook, the Gitlab company handbook, YC Founder Videos, and even the 37 signals by Basecamp. I have resorted to building onto this no matter how small the scale.
